I grew up with a VIC20 followed by a C64 and then an Amiga 1000. I jumped to an IBM compatible 486 DX2 when I saw a roommate playing Wing Commander, which wasn't out for the Amiga. I ended up selling my Amiga and all my parts/disks in the late 90's.

I recently came across an ad for an Amiga on Facebook Marketplace, and decided to go for it. The seller had only turned it on and saw the power light come on. He also said it comes with 2 'mechanical keyboards'. I knew one was the A1000 keyboard and it took me some googling to discover the C64c looking 'keyboard' was a C64 in the uncommon aftermarket case from South Australia. It also came with an A1000 mouse, A1010 external 3.5" drive and a 1541 5 1/4" drive.

I bought the lot, and have been spending hours cleaning the nasty gunk out of all the parts. Out of 2 flat screen TV's and 7 flat screen computer monitors, I had nothing that I could hook either the Amiga or C64 up to. I took them to my friends house and we discovered the Amiga came up to the Kickstart prompt. The C64 had a black and white rolling screen, but we may have hooked it up incorrectly to his 1702 monitor. We'll try again at some point soon.

I just finished cleaning everything and have started putting everything back together. I assembled an internal RGBtoHDMI adapter so I can get video output, I installed a DF0 drive switch, I assembled a Drawbridge device so I can read/write Amiga disks on my PC and I have a Gotek and cable arriving soon. I was happily surprised to find a DKB Insider II with full 1.5mb of RAM already installed.

After reassembly and making Kickstart, Workbench and Test Kit disks, I finally got to do some testing tonight. It booted Kickstart 1.3 from the TwinKick disk I made (thanks to the Amiga Love video!) and it booted the Test Kit. The mouse moves up and right only, keyboard checks out good but I forgot to attach powered speakers. The biggest issue at this point is the mouse and the fact that it doesn't show any Fast memory when it should have 1.5mb.

I'm having a great time working with it, and can't wait to get to the point where I can start watching demos and playing some games! I've attached a picture of the lot from the ad. Everything was way dirtier in person that it looks in the photos!
