Can't tell you how many versions of the board I ended up making and building before I finally got it to fit like a glove inside both the version 1 and version 2 RAMLinks. It was a tight fit I tell you in order to get the card and extra components all in there and still be able to close the hood on the device.
But, I'm happy to report that it's done and working as it should. It has a coincell holder on it that will hold a 2032 battery that will maintain the RTC built onto the board. Additionally there's an external JST connector on the board that allows you to alternatively use another battery in place of the coincell if perhaps you wanted something with a slightly higher capacity. Maybe you never want to set the clock again in your lifetime?
For those unfamiliar with this card, it's a replacement/upgraded RAMcard for the Version 2 and Version 1 CMD RAMLink that blows past the original 16mb barrier. This upgrade allows you to put as much as 64mb of RAM on the RAMcard and you can further expand the capacity of your RAMLink by adding more memory through the RAMport. I've run this as high as 96mb, and it doesn't skip a beat.
Now, for me it's on to the next project... Waited long enough. The actual RAMLink will be next.
